Champs Qualifying Ratings

Cimarron Note:  2011 USPC Championships is coming up this summer!!  And with the alternate ratings system now in place, the question has come up, what rating do you have to be to qualify for Champs?  Below is a rundown from Erin Woodall, Activities Assistant.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is the breakdown of Disciplines and what their Qualification Criteria
for Championships is based on.

Dressage-based on highest Flat rating
Eventing-based on highest Classic rating
Games-based on highest Flat rating
Polocrosse-based on highest Flat rating
Quiz-based on highest HM rating
Show Jumping-based on highest Classic rating
Tetrathlon-based on highest Classic rating

As for your question about D rally, since D’s are not allowed to Qualify for
Eventing Championships (except as Stable Managers) there are no National
Guidelines about D Rally participation and therefore it is up to the
Regional Supervisor and Organizer of the D Rally to make those decisions.
We of course would hope that the rally would be open to anyone who is
interested.  Please let me know if this doesn’t cover your questions.

Sincerely,

Erin Woodall

Web Hosting Fees Due

Cimarron Note:  DCs, the list of paids was included in the original email on the DC Digest; I did not include it here. Please see the original email to confirm your club has paid for their web hosting this year.  Thank you!

Dear Club Website Contacts,

A reminder that it is that time of year again the $35 web hosting fees are
due to the National Office and should be postmarked by March 31st. If your
payment has already been sent please ignore this e-mail. There is a list of
paid sites at the bottom of this e-mail, please check and see if your site
payment has been received. If you have questions about whether your site has
already been paid for this year please contact me by phone. There is a
second list of sites that have extra space, and therefore owe $55 for their
yearly webhosting instead of $35. Please let me know if you have questions
about that.

If payment has not been made by March 31st, there will be a $5.00 late fee
assessed. If payment has not been made by April 30th access to your site
will be restricted. If payment has not been sent by May 31st your site will
be deleted. Please make sure to remit your payment of $35.00 for web
hosting. Payment should be mailed to the National Office with Attn. Erin
Woodall, Web Hosting fees and the name of the site. Payment can be made by
club or personal check or can even be called in with a Credit Card number if
you would like. If you would like to cancel your site or if the contact for
the site has changed please contact me ASAP with the changes. If you have
any questions feel free to contact me at the National Office 859-254-7669
ext. 244. Payment is to be postmarked by March 31, 2011. Once again below is
a list of sites that have already been paid for the year 2011. Thank you!

Original Notice from Michele (early February):

DEAR Cimarron DC's:

I am once again taking on the Organizing position for Eventing Rally although should be a little lower key...champs did me in for a month last summer!!  I will work closely with the MCPC HT Organizer Michelle Ptak to bring you a wonderful experience and do all we can to help get you qualified!!  Jackie Babcock, our Eventing Rally Secretary will be the one you will make sure she has all of your rally paper work in and on time and can help set up teams if needed.  I have copied her in on this email.  Because this is a recognized USEA Trials you will need to follow the criteria they need and send your entries in to them which in turn will send to us.  Jackie works very close with Courtney the recognized HT secretary.

Off the USEA Spring Omnibus page:

Eventing Rally is for ALL pony clubbers whether they want to qualify or not just so there are no confusions.  Because you are traveling out of region you need to have your RS send a letter of recommendation to Joy Poling our Midwest Region RS.  Entries will not be considered unless this is done.  That's a great task to get started on right now if you think you are thinking about qualifying!!  If they want to qualify they need to meet the criteria rating, age etc for the level BN - Prelim for which they want to qualify for.  We will have those rules documented so there are no confusions in the packet we will email you in the next 3 weeks.  See the eventing rule book for more details and don't hesitate to call me with questions...this is a BIG year for all these kiddos!

Visiting Instructor Program

Has the idea of an 'exchange' student ever appealed to you?  Well,  the USPC
Visiting Instruction Program has the same philosphy. We have a fine group of
USPC Visiting Instructors ready to come to your area and teach your members.  It
is exciting for both the VI's and for your club and center members to host a
VI.  They bring so much to your group and they take home the experience of being
in a different part of the country,  seeing how your region works and meeting a
wonderful group of new pony club members.  Even if you are blessed with lots of
upper level members in your region, consider the 'exchange' idea of you getting
some of your members to sign up for the VIP, while you request one to come and
serve your area with fresh new idea's.

The February 28 deadline is quickly approaching for your members to apply to
be a Visiting Instructor as well as for your clubs, centers and regions to
request a Visiting Instructor to come to your area.   Please see if you can move
along the process of getting applications turned in promptly.  We will consider
late applications,  but it is often harder to make those requests work out.
As you work with the UL members in your region, please continue to encourage
those spectacular UL pc'rs that are terrific teachers to complete applications
for this program, no matter what time of year it is.  We have had more 'off
summer' requests for VI's, so we will consider later applicants for these roles
as well.   We need your best instructors to be a part of this program.

If you need more information please check out the USPC website, 'forms' then
"Visiting Instructor" for all the packets.  There is also a link to Visiting
Instruction under "opportunities" .   You can always contact the committee with
any questions at visitinginstruction@ponyclub.org.   Consider joining the
facebook  'Visiting Instructor Program';  it is a way to follow the VI's through
their assignments,  ask questions or just chat with those interested.

I really appreciate your assistance in helping to support this program.

Here’s your chance to share your opinion on a number of topics that relate
to Pony Club’s Instruction Program. The survey includes 46-some questions...
but you can choose to answer only one part or take your time doing any of
it. It is a deliberate combination of multiple choice and essays.

Advertising in USPC News

We have a new commissioned salesperson to sell advertising in our Pony Club
publications, including USPC News, E-News from National, the Annual
Directory (back in print in the small size this year at your request!) and
in Festival Features.

If you know someone who would be interested in showcasing a product or
service to our Pony Club audience, a personal ‘recommendation’ from you
might make the difference in selling them an ad. If we can say “Sue Jones
suggested we contact you to advertise your horse trailers (feed, neat
clothing line, etc.)” we have our foot in the door.

Please email Caryn Sappelli at caryn@ponyclub.org if you can suggest a
potential advertiser.

Thanks so much for your help.
