Founders Award Nominations Deadline: May 1, 2011

The following is posted for the Advisory Committee

*The Advisory Committee needs your help as we prepare to recommend to the
Board of Governors the name or names of candidates for the Founders
Award. This prestigious award is presented to those persons, still living,
who have been active volunteers in USPC for at least 20 years and who have
served on the national level. Examples of national level volunteer service
would be to have served as a Board of Governors member or sat on a national
level committee. Ideally, such a person should also have made a significant
contribution to Pony Club in his or her Region and/or local Registered Club.

* If you would like to nominate a person who meets these high standards,
please use the nomination form that is found on the USPC Forms page under
"F" for Founders Award Nomination or by using this link:

http://www.ponyclub.org/resource/resmgr/general_administration/foundersaward.pdf

*Nominations should be sent to the National Office, attention Connie Jehlik
as soon as you can complete the form. We have a deadline of May 1, 2011 for
accepting nominations but will be flexible for those applications that might
be submitted past this date. We establish a deadline because there is a lot
of planning, including gathering information on those guests that the
recipients would like present to share in this honor with them. *

*We thank you in advance for taking the time to nominate that special
dedicated volunteer*.

Take the USPC Foxhunting Survey!

Good afternoon!

USPC and the Masters of Foxhounds Association (MFHA) are teaming up to gather some data about Pony Clubbers and foxhunting -- and we're using the Survey Monkey online tool to do it. If you would distribute the following link to your clubs and club members, encouraging them to take a few minutes and do the survey, that would be most helpful:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ZV7GLFG

If I've posted this link right, it should take you to a page titled "Foxhunting PC Participation Survey - Pony Clubbers" and there are a dozen or so questions about getting PCers out to ride to hounds. We could use information from those who DON'T foxhunt, those who DO, those who've thought about it, and those who haven't yet considered it. It's all great information.

I plan to leave the poll in place for several weeks, but if you could get as many of your members to answer it, that would be really useful as we seek to identify ways to improve the experience of clubs, centers and hunts in collaborating.

At the same time, I'm posting a related poll for hunts, through MFHA, and the combined information should prove helpful in our overall planning.

If you have questions about the surveys, or about the Masters of Foxhounds Association, please let me know and I'll try to help! If you have questions about USPC's outstanding Foxhunting program, check the USPC Foxhunting Committee page, at http://www.foxhunting.ponyclub.org/ or contact the USPC Foxhunting Committee Chair Linda Hagerman.

Many thanks for your time and cooperation,
